greetings readers. its been forever since my last post. well now that i can access this blog, ill be active again!! hurrah!!! yeaah!!!! ....

....u dont seem excited

ahaha so imma tell u bout this website ive been active at since last hols. its sketchfu.

sketchfu is basically a social based site with art drawing as their main thing. it's a site where u can draw using ur mouse, touchpad, or a tablet(special device for drawing) there, publish it, then get rated, commented and such.

ive been there and I already publish 81 drawings :D if u wanna see it, well go there, then search my username : topek :D

heres what makes this site soo special :

1. hello USA

unlike facebook, this site allow us to communicates with foreigner at much uhh comfortable condition, as in, indirectly socializing behind this art stuff. in fact, some really just take sketchfu as a social site. majority of users here are from USA.

2. when man's in need

guys: uf ur a guy, know how to draw, had good vocab, u should be here ;) u see, this site is dominated with girls of age 14-17, and theyre very desperately nice to guys( considering theres not much guys there). their popular trend : emo.

3. practise makes perfect duude

as for no. 2, this is a good opportunity to practice ur sweeeet lovey dovey, caring lil flirting talk here :D

4. yup

as for no. 3, i dont do it :D

i make lots of friends there. and we pm(personal message) each other, u know, socializing. malaysian? not much. i only have 3 friends from malaysia there.

A month later..

Assalamualaikum warahmatullah dan Salam Sejahtera...

Uhukk....sungguh bersawang blog ak ni. Maaf( ak rase x perlu ) sebab da lame x update. Act ak ade macam2 nak cite/kongsi tapi ummm...banyak bende lain yang ak buat( bukan sume berfaedah pon, hahaha). So, uhukk, memang da usang blog ak ni. Sawang, lumut, cendawan pon da tumbuh...dan aku.. eh? ape tu..SHITAKEE?!! yum2!! hahaha

So skang da masuk Oktober. Final Exam ak da dekat....kalakian, semakin sibuklah aku, sume Assignment penting2 nak kene anta skang. Research Interview pon akan start minggu depan. Quiz Math, dan lagi 4 Assignment C++ yang akan dihabiskan sebelum Semester 1 berakhir...pastu aku pulak sempat lagi nak ambil berat pasal blog aku. aiyooo...haha

BTW, Baru2 ni aku terseliuh kat kaki, dan aku dah x pergi kelas 2 hari dah( sbb tu ade mase nak blogging nih). MC pon xde. teruk btol, kepade budak2 kat luar sane, sile sediakan mc jikalau korang sakit taw? jangan ikut saye.

actually, nie design je, belum diterime lagi. sebab orang lain pon ade kasi design gak dekat SAMSA-badan wakil pelajar AUSMAT. Insyaallah deorang terime, dan kalau diorang terime, aku dapat baju free. sebenarnye ak x kisah pasal bayar pon, tapi melihat orang pakai baju yang didesign oleh aku.....priceless man.

Aku rase tu je nak gtaw, now excuse me, ak nak siapkan esei ESLS(English Second Language Studies) aku yang tertunggak 2 minggu...T-T

umm..so, here's my latest work...


I made two copy here, i keep the unfinished one coz I was thinkin to print it on tee-shirt. well, I still cant do it myself yet so maybe i'll have to ask some shop to do it.

If you remember( or if ur kind/rajin enough to look at my older art post ), this, too, is a stereotype of rahmat harun art. but no, I dont trace his drawing. nonono.. I just copying his...inspiration. the whole drawing is purely my idea.

this is my favourite. my all star nomnomnom shoes. hahaha. but still, there seems to be prob. first, pacmania game, their background is black, or dark blue if I remember correctly. second, yellow shoes is soooo daring. hahaha. but I love'em. coz Im applying this picture on converse all star contest and hey, many people( mostly from france?) like it!!!( and thats's why I love facebook :) )

this is a shirt I design for my beloved friend, muneer, for his belated birthday. this kind of art is called ambigram-words that can be read in more than 1 way. as u can see...this one says 'I LOVE FART...' and if we flip it like this....

It will read ' BUT I HATE FLATULENCE...'....don't get it?? allow me to explain. fart and flatulence are both rhe same thing. kentut in malay. the thing is, fart is a verb while flatulence is a noun.....It makes sense actually..you love to fart, but do you love flatulence?? :D

ummm...as usual, I'm posting my drawing. I bet you can clearly see my improvement since the first tryout rite? its kinda obvious really..all thanks to ..time. haha yup this sickening waiting period is proven worth it after all. I get to improve my drawing skill, make friends( virtual one,,,T-T) to learn more about Islam( sebenanye ak ade plan nak hafal certain2 surah, tapi sampai skang blom lagi, aduhh ), and....grow up :P

also, american's stroke seems to use bold lining and contrast, bright color. notice the writing on the dude's shirt?? hehehe it's my shirt, discord harmonics:D

the only reason I upload this unedited drawing coz most my frens don't believe that the colored version is mine. they saya Im taking it from internet. hahaha I take that as a praise thank you. but frankly this is not fully my idea. the hair and coloring bit, Im just taking it from random picture in the internet..but hey, it's still is my drawing!!

going up..with colors!!

gahaha im fed up with myself for doing nothing at all nowadays. but with more time to kill. means that more drawing can be done!! haha its kinda funny coz back in schooldays, ive never got a chance to spend my time from zohor to asar drawing! but now, its a necessity...once, I thought that this is totally worthless. i mean, why'd I do this for?? and maybe I can come up with better activity to be done. but Ive tried changing my schedule by reading books after zohor and play games. and you know what? I slept on both tries( tido waktu tgh main, believe it!!) haha..oh and Ive curently change my routine last week and i think its good enough to last for this whole 5 weeks.

my routine:-

1. wake up for subuh(and not sleeping back :D)

2. went to play basketball from 7.30 to 9.oo+-

3. doing house chores

4. watch tv( usually discovery, ngc, history, and lil bit of mtv and bbc just to update myself with current songs and news:)

5. zohor

6. sleep for an hour :P

7. drawing

8. asar

9. house chores

10. play badminton with lil bro( penat kutip shuttle je..T-T)

11. maghrib

12. islamic stuff

13. isyak

14. reading ( currently reading the lovely bones, diary of a wimpy kid, and dictionary(?!)

15. help lil bro doing his homework (plus extra tuition)

16.continue with drawing

note: I dont list on9 coz Im on9 pretty much all the time( on9 means facebooking, watching vid on youtube, play games, reading blogs and articles, editing my drawing on lappy, listening to music, and downloading stuffs)

actually this is a request from a friend of mine, anisa pattel from new york. she ask me to draw her a curry monster..,,so here it is. all the colouring are made by paint.

its harder than it seems

when I was a kiddo, I used to make something like this, continuous line filling up the whole page. but here I add on some more meaning to it..but sigh, I failed. notice that ive put hidden words in the tubes lining. its supposed to says 'I come in peace'. but I forgot to put the 'e' which change the whole meaning to 'I come in pace' hahahah pace=langkah. gahaha

O yeah I'm so gonna make you a tee-shirt!! ill tell you how I color all my drawings

1. draw using marker, pen or pencil sketch

2. crop using photo viewer

3. maximise contrast( to reduce unnecessary detail like paper texture, and dirt )

4. open with paint. remove any other unnecessarities

5. fill up space by using bucket tools.last touchup using photo gallery( usually adjusting hue, colour temperature and tint)

6. upload!!

the quickest yet meaningful :D

I finish drawing this(including editing) by 20 minutes +- which is a record!( even the diver drawings takes an hour!). this I made after the breaking news of Gaza convoy attack by Israel. You might seen the news in the tv or internet. Its rather sad and dissappointing, but whatever it is, something's gonna happen after this. whatever the response, will have a BIG effects on world specifically to Muslim. here you can watch this clip from facebook http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=128637640495116

now that you've watch it, I ask you, do you see any kind of threat in the activist? I mean look, they were defendless, far more impossible to be accused armed. and look, theres an old folks who the oldest is 88 years old! and also women on board and a one year old child!! yea israel is soo in trouble explaining this to the world. yea now that their true face is revealed. my opinion of whats happening next?? I dunno, but Im pretty much think that it will turn worse for us muslims. why?? coz I read The Holy Quran. that's why...

still..you do not see this

well, Im still experimenting with the shading. and my stroke. yep, I wanna try a different kind of stroke. i do this by simply looking at other people's drawing and apply their tecniques to my drawing. its like what Albert Einstein once said,'' example isn't another way to teach, its the only way to teach''. ..so far so good..n_n

THE PURPOSE OF SHADING...

... now I learn that unnecessary line actually is necessary...

yup, unnecessary lines are generally used by artist to give texture to the object. like if the object is shiny, well the shading should be clear and solid. meanwhile if the object is rough, the shading should be..rough( single line on top of the other, weblike )

this is better, coz its darker :DD

this kind of stroke is widely used in america where you just have to darken the object but leaving a space gap between the actual line. believe me, this effect works in almost anything. thought Im explaining bout shading, theres one important thing I havent done yet, smudging-which can only be done by pencil or charcoal. its a great art of shading due to its ability to tone and to fill up space in a dime. but I cant do it just yet for two reasons, I use pen and marker, and I cant figure out how to do it yet.

SHADING

well,not so bad for a beginner rite?

I learn that if you bold the flip in the shirt or any clothing material, It will look more...smart:P(also works on hair/fur) and Im learning this from azri whom i met on fb. so, thank you azri(and fb:P). haha

well, I may dont have time to do this hobby in the next 5 days, so ill try to do my best to draw as much as i can before Im getting busy again(bunyi macam satu kewajipan lak) in UiTM or MARA which doesnt come up with any news yet which pissed pretty much everyone( Im not excluded )



so, heres my drawing of .....stuffs. if you notice, I never color my drawings..thats simply because Im not good at it...T-T

machine

here's something to share. to make your machine or any kind of metal look like one, the simplest way is to draw an inverted 'C' line on its surface like what I do up here...well it doesnt have to be a perfect C, youll just do a line, then make a curve. it also helps make the drawing looks more..detail haha

creature

like I said before. its hard(for me) to draw human and any other existing creature..coz its god's creation and..and its hard to copy while non-existing creature is easy coz it doesnt exist so people cant compare. I dont have much tips bout drawing human coz im bad at it. well, all i can say is, look at yourself..and oh, read comics or manga..it helps

machine and creature alltogether

yeah I know, this one is a lil bit messy, its becoz I do it 4 am in the morning. im downloading songs so I drew this while im waitin...sigh when living things and machines drawn together, you must be careful not to make the living look dead, while the machine look alive.
unless both is in stationery. to make a moving things looks like its moving in drawing, simply add some random lines around them depending on its direction of movement...I got no example to show, but you get the picture..rite?

sebenanye ak x berape gemar raikan hari ibu ni. sebabnye, ak rase meraikan hari ibu ni menjadikan ibu x istimewa. i mean, ak ingat mak aku tiap2 hari, macam x perlukan peristiwa baru nak ingat, baru nak kasi hadiah. aku walau bukan hari ibu pon ak kasi hadiah ape. tapi manusia normal ni, perlukan alasan untuk bagitaw yg die sayang mak die. hari ibu baru nak kasi hadiah. huhu..tapi, supaye mak ak x sedih, ak bwat r gak hadiah untuk mak aku...ak kuar beli mug kosong, marker, dan ribbon..total sume 7 ringgit. balik rumah...bwat hadiah, terus bagi mak ak. ak xtaw nak bagi mcm mane, so, ak datang dekat mak ak, bagi mug, peluk sambil ucap 'selamat hari ibu, topek sayang mak(intonasi: blur)' ak ingat mak ak akan trimas aku je. tetibe kuar air mate lak...darn it, ak xtaw nak react camne. so ak tunggu jela situ. pastu mak ak cakap pasal U lak tetibe, pasal kejayaan ak adalah hadiah paling berharge gitu..sekejap je pon. xsampai seminit kot...kite sambut hari ibu ni, kite taw ke ape sejarah hari ibu?? hehe ak nak kongsi sket ape yg ak jumpe(ni jugak salah satu sebab ak xnak sambut hari ibu):-

Goddess Isis - Early Egyptian Roots

One of the earliest historical records of a society celebrating a Mother deity can be found among the ancient Egyptians, who held an annual festival to honor the goddess Isis, who was commonly regarded as the Mother of the pharaohs. Her stern, yet handsome head is typically crowned by a pair of bull horns enclosing a fiery sun orb. She is most often depicted sitting on a throne.

So the story goes, after Isis’ brother-husband Osiris was slain and dismembered in 13 pieces by their jealous brother Seth, Isis re-assembled Osiris’ body and used it to impregnate herself. She then gave birth to Horus, whom she was forced to hide amongst the reeds lest he be slaughtered by Seth. Horus grew up and defeated Seth, and then became the first ruler of a unified Egypt. Thus Isis earned her stature as the Mother of the pharaohs.

It is interesting to note that the Mother and Son imagery of Isis and Horus—in which Isis cradles and suckles her son—is strikingly similar to that of the Virgin Mary and baby Jesus.



Cybele - Ancient Roman Celebration
The festival of Isis was also celebrated by the Romans who used the event to commemorate an important battle and mark the beginning of Winter. Despite being an imported deity, Isis held a place at the Roman temple, and her festival—which lasted for three days—was regaled by mostly-female dancers, musicians and singers.

Yet the Roman root of Mother’s Day is perhaps more precisely found in the celebration of the Phrygian goddess Cybele, or Magna Mater (Great Mother).

Cybele stems from the Greek Goddess Rhea, who was the Mother of most of the major deities including Zeus. Rhea was therefore celebrated as a mother goddess, and the festival took place around the time of the Vernal Equinox.

Greek Celebration of Rhea, the Mother of the Gods
In Rome and Asia Minor, Cybele was the major Mother deity most similar to Rhea, the Greek mother of the Gods. Other societies worshipped similar deities including Gaia the Earth Goddess and Meter oreie the Mountain Mother. In many aspects, this Mother goddess was represented and celebrated similarly across cultures.

The Anatolian mother goddess festivals, however, were said to be so wild that they were eventually discouraged or banned. But more conservative celebrations of Cybele and her equivalents included eating honey cakes and sharing flowers in the morning. This was practiced throughout Asia Minor—and eventually in Rome.

The Roman celebration of Magna Mater fell between March 15 and March 22, just around the same time as the Greek festival in honor of Rhea. Referred to as Hilaria, games were held in honor of the Mother of the gods. Also customary was a procession through the streets with a statue of the goddess carried at the head, followed by a display of elaborate arts and crafts

ak memang suke doodling ni dari kecik lagi...humm If I recall correctly, minat ni tercetus di sekolah agame dulu. haha ye r, waktu rehat ak x makan sebab da makan kt rumah, so, ak slalu conteng meja( seawal darjah satu ). hahak siap terbitkan buku lukisan lagi, buku digimon, 4 jilid( darjah 3 dulu digimon famous, so ak reka digimon ak sendiri ). sume anggap ak ni cam maniac r gak...haha x kesah pon...so doodling ni dah jadi hardwired r. asal ak dpt sharpie, mesti nak conteng. tapi stakat ni ak doodle sume kat kertas je,( ok ak tipu, kat meja, dinding, whiteboard. lantai pon ade, dan tidak dilupe, tilam ) pastu ak terpikiaq nak wat kat baju( ade kat plan cuti ak kalau korang rujuk post sebelum ni ) kalakian, ak buat dua helai. and walaweh!!! stail gile, sampai xde sape sedar ak wat sendiri kalau ak x gitaw...pastu ade yg nak suruh ak wat satu untok die. die offer rm 30 tuh..perghh!!! bukan die sorang je, ramai gak galakkan ak jual. tapi ak tolak sebab baju ak ade banyak kelemahan lagi. tulisan x kekal sgt dan senang luntur...ToT. soo, ak nak mintak pendapat korang r, kalaw2 ak nak wat bisnes design baju ni:-

1. ok, brape harge yg sesuai?? modal kasar, baju-rm15, cat-10 sebotol( satu botol bole cover 2 baju kot), berus+marker-rm 10-tahan sampai 5 baju mungkin?,hairdryer (x beli lagi, tapi kalau ak nak serius, ak akan beli)-rm20. ak rase harge pokok ak nak letak rm25. ke boleh lebih???
2. camne nak advertise??
3. sape berminat?? dan korang rase bole berkembang x bisnes ni?? bagi r cadangan sket..

oh, dan ak ade wat kat kasut gak. ak ade buat satu kat kasut all star aku. and maybe, just maybe, ak akan buat kat beg...so, uhh, ak serius nak wat bisnes ni sebab first die mmg leh wat untung. second bukan lame pon nak buat, idea tu sebelum tido bole pikir, nak siapkan satu baju adela dalam 2 jam. lastly, mende ni memang ak suke dari kecik. so, ak nak manfaatkan r tabiat ak ni ke jalan yang betul. ak mungkin akan mulekan kat uitm nanti insyaallah..

note to self: tgn jangan panjang sangat, muke detail sikit, garisan merepek. lukisan camni ak wat sekejap je, name pon doodle..haha.

ak mmg x reti lukis muke padahal tiap2 hari kite tgok muke. explanation die senang je, sebab muka ni common sangat, orang senang detect same ade muke tu btol ke x. kadang2 mulut kebawah sikit, mate besar sikit pon dah nampak x cantik. in the other hand, bende2 lain atau bende yg x wujud akan kelihatan sempurna kerana kurangnye pengetahuan kita mengenai anatominya, so kita anggap ape yg kite lihat itu sempurna dan betul sifatnya..

tengok ramai org lukis pakai maker, so I try it out..gosh its harder than I think.. aduhh sukar sekali. da la lame x lukis..haha padahal lukis ni la feveret thing ak wat kat sekolah( no, really, kat sekolah, bukan asrama) haha sori r form 4, buku teks ko penoh ngan doodling ak...hahaha

so, ak rase nak post lukisan ak bebanyak kat sini..murhahaaha!!!! sebab ak lukis pon nanti ketas tu hilang..hehehe..feel free to critizise my art...thank you very much..
